I believe that plants definitely have the last word in the success of a great garden design. They orchestrate the whole coordination, giving light , movement, structure and form. Offering you the full colour spectrum and with careful selection, for every season. Especially important in the Winter and early Spring in terms of beauty and biodiversity. Some of the early Spring bulbs are crucial in providing nectar for pollinators when all else is dormant.
To ensure the best possible chance of success of your new plants, preparation of the soil and planting area is key. I can source the plants and prepare them for planting.
Pots and Container Planting
Seasonal pops of colour, texture and movement can be created by planting in containers.
Repurposing almost anything can create stunning displays and unusual focal points.
Give plants some anchorage, water, drainage and the right conditions, they will reward you with blooms throughout the seasons.
Propagating and Pruning
You may have more plants than you think. Established perennial plants thrive by being lifted and divided, creating new 'free' healthy plants. Shrubs can be propagated by various methods to produce little clones of the ones you already love.
Pruning is an important part of garden maintenance. Cutting away and correctly disposing of dead, diseased and damaged plant material is crucial to a healthy happy garden. I have mentioned my love of topiary, but not many shrubs like to be shaped into a ball. I can help with a pruning schedule of your current shrubs, roses and small trees to really showcase their natural beauty.
